Map that I made for Gmod a long time ago and now imported to Re-Volt.
By the way, this is my second track beside the test one so it might be a bit underdeveloped.
Interesting and unique track. Surely not very easy to drive in considering is a conversion from a sandbox game and not ideal for racing in it but its nice addition to the track collection.
Okay, update 1.1 is much, much better. The curve warning arrows (what are they called, actually?) are a welcome addition and make the raceline easy to follow and learn now. Also, the surrounding area was added, it seems.
Overall, this is a different sort of Neighbourhood. Very enjoyable now.
P.S. The 1.1 update’s .rar file opens with 7zip for me (maybe I have too old Winrar).
Greetz,
Ato.
Having read Kiwi’s comment, I was pleasantly surprised. The raceline is unclear in parts, but it’s no Casino 2 or Domestic Disturbance. However, I get an X after the two hairpins at the start on every lap. I have to reposition a few times, and eventually it works. Could this be fixed?
The graphics – especially the very detailed textures – are great here, but the map was clearly made without having a raceline in mind. Understandable, as the map was made for Gerry’s mod originally. But it’s ultra frustrating to race here. This starts with the very confusion raceline (the direction triggers tend to break on the slightest error, and there are zero hints where the next turn will be), and ends with the very very tight areas, not really made for Re-Volt racing. All in all I appreciate the work you put into this, but choosing a different raceline or re-building some of the areas would have worked wonders here. Also adding some fitting SFX or a custom music track would also have been nice.
1 star for raceline/flow from my side, 4 stars for graphics. The 1 missing star for graphics I gave because of the missing surrounding area, which is especially visible at the big jump. I think some hints about stuff/landscape behind the map (or a different skybox) could improve the overall immersion.
