Moonbase Alpha is a storage and research plant for nuclear waste.
On 13 September 1999 a leak causes huge explosions which knocked the moon out of its orbit into far space.
I already thought the Roofbottom track was beautifully designed and of high quality. But this moon base here sets completely new standards. The level is beautifully designed. I’m yet to find out how it drives itself, but visually it’s already very ingenious. I’ve seen a video of this track on YouTube. Either way, I’ve bookmarked your author profile for new tracks.
Hi Ced, thanks a lot for appreciation and sorry, a season 2 is not planned :-)
In the 70s TV series the Alpha crew asked the computer by randomly pressing some colored buttons without labels and then comes out a little piece of paper (not floppys) with entire informations about a foreign planet or space phenomena. That’s always very funny compared to speaking with computer in the much older star trek episodes.
Yes I did some dirt effect at the outside race line, but was too much for good steering, so I partly reduced again. Same with force fields which do not work weak/strong but slow/fast, as far as I know. Makes much more fun with ufo or a plane or certainly the eagle car: https://www.revoltworld.net/dl/eagle-01-2/
Cheers !
A truly incredible track (yes, I repeat myself). I loved the flashy colours that contrasted with the general white; the details like the computer spitting out floppy disks and the very rhythmic racing line.
In the exterior section (still with a lot of detail), I would have liked to see a slight corrugation on the track.
Have you tried a very light force field to simulate weak gravity outdoors?
The unique foldername is moonbase 1, is a moonbase 2 planned?
What have you done? This track is incredible! I’m going back there straight away.
