Tips: Drive this track with "Evil Weasel" [see story for reason...]

    The story so far:
Once there was a cute little car, called "Evil Weasel". It didn't like his name, because it was a nice and brave car. But all the other cars played fool with him, and always laughed at him. They often sang a song:

    Evil Weasel, Evil Weasel,
    He got no diesel!
    He is so evil
    He looks like gravel.

Poor weasel often weeped. When it came to night, and all the cars were sent to sleep, they moved their boxes close to each other, so that they could talk and laugh together. But they always moved weasel's box far away, or even kicked it off the shelf. Weasel often had to sleep on the floor, and when he didn't find his box, it was so cold there. He tried to hide himself when he cried, but the others always found him and laughed at him. But then, one day, he looked into the mirror for a long time. He saw the broken aerial, the mean jokes someone scratched into his body, the rusted axis, and the tracks of all the tears that runned over his body. He came to a decision. He would never again be the fool. He would go to the race today. He would stand the jokes at the starting line. He would win this race, once and forever. And he would leave them afterwards, letting them stand there in shame. It's gonna be the most important race ever.

  1. The legendary track, from Ali, is a very classic track, and almost one of the very first! no matter what, the textures are clearly not so well made, the same with the graphics, but despite what an old track it is, it’s still fun to drive!

  2. At home by ali is a classic track that is still fun to play. The scale might be a little off and some parts aren’t too interesting, but this is still quite a cool track. And man, is it a classic. This is one of the first Extreme tracks! On that note: Re-Ville is not the first Extreme track, Botanical Garden 2 (also by Spaceman) is the first. At home by ali is extra nostalgic to me for being episode 2 in my ‘607 plays revolt’ series, which is the first episode of the proper series, started in August 2014 (https://youtu.be/E0_mznXsrfU) (episode 1 was recorded separately in early 2013).
Definitely not a track to miss out on!

  3. It was not the first custom track made for Re-Volt but it was among the first few. The first custom track made for Re-Volt was Re-Ville by Spaceman. Which while not great by todays standards, is still one of the most inspired tracks for it’s time. Spaceman also released quite a few lego tracks with custom textures and a texture pack for the track editor. But it was Ali with the RVGlue tools that made most of the custom tracks possible at the time. I used to have to use RVminis tools for most of my cars back then. Which by the way the last time I looked at the Re-Volt Wiki It said I arrived around 2005 but that’s wrong, I bought Re-Volt new in December of 1999 and posted my first car in July of 2000 to the then website of Re-Volt Head Quarters and later most of them where posted at Racers Point. I miss those days, but life moves on.

  4. It’s nearly impossible to rate this track properly. The track was one of the first Extreme tracks made for Re-Volt (Was it THE first? I don’t know.), made by Dr. Alexander Kröller, aka “Ali”. Ali made the rvtmod tools, which was the most important tools for Re-Volt track making in the early 2000’s. I guess with this track he tested the stuff he developed. So it’s one of the most important tracks in the history of Re-Volt customisations. Without the tools made by Ali, Re-Volt wouldn’t be alive anymore, I guess. So my biggest respect and acknowledge for Alexander. I would suggest everyone to browse to Ali’s website (http://www.perror.de/rv/), as it contains a lot of useful information. For example the file structures for PRM, W, NCP,… files. Also the readme included in “At Home” is a pretty nice read.

Also interesting: Ali popped up end of 2017 in the TRH forum: https://forum.re-volt.io/viewtopic.php?f=8&t=25&p=196&hilit=ali#p185

  5. It’s an ancient track, even more than Gabor’s stuff so I’m giving 4/5, 3/5, -/5, 4/5. Yeah, the grass has never looked very good already in the original game. Not supposed to be a professional review, just putting my two donnies on the table.
