- The car has good acceleration and top speed, but sloppy steering and low grip.
- Like with a real American full-size, smooth driving and managing the soft suspension are key when driving at the limit.
- The suspension is extra soft, springy, and sorely underdampened. It absorbs bumps very well but the car does not like sharp and short ramps like the subway train jumps in Subway 2.
- Overall the car is a bit of an underperformer. But it's fine as long as you're having fun right?
- This car is based on a '57 Chevorlet Bel Air with fuel injection. More specifically, it's based on the Kyosho FZ02L Bel Air replica.
- The 3 skin colors are Tropical Turqoise, Indy Red, and Colonial Cream.
- Del Mar is a beach town in Southern California. This is akin to Bel Air being a Los Angeles neighborhood.
- The car supports transparency. The extra folder contains transparent window versions of the base skins as well as one more skin that replicates the Kyosho '57 Bel Air. Paintkit included as always.
- Big thanks to Skarma for providing a conversion of the Bel Air from Motor City Online.
- Thanks to Yun, Skarma, and fr13ndz0n3dguy who tested and provided feedback on the car parameters.
- v1.1 - Reworked some parts of the mesh for better environmentals, tweaked some UVs, etc. Very minor tweak to AI, still sucks.
- v1.2 - Fixed axles (they were inverted), tweaked AI again with a slower but maybe more consistent driving style.
Update v1.2: Fixed axles and reworked AI for something that is slower but can take tighter turns without colliding into walls too much.
A scale replica of an iconic American car on the Type 0 Racing T10-2X chassis. The body boasts a high level detail with ABS-molded chrome parts; something that is not typical of hobby-grade RC cars.
The T10-2X is a special variant of the capable shaft-driven T10-2 platform. Unlike the base version, the "X" chassis features longer coilovers and greater suspension travel that gives the Del Mar a realistic amount of body roll that mimics the real full-size coupe.
