This is Mario Kart's DS Desert Hills in its Wii version. I tried to do a conversion as faithful to the original as possible.
Very special thanks to CapitaineSZM (doing the MKRV pack) and Vas0Sky (doing similar MK conversions in the past). You both inspired me to do this track. More stuff in the same style will maybe follow! :)

Version 1.0b Changes
This is actually a conversion from Mario Kart Wii, a game which I have played quite a bit. It was made by Kiwi in August 2022, and sets the highest bar to be reached for track conversions. The conversion looks and plays great, as expected, but what sets this track apart from the rest is that the animations in the original track were recreated: the Angry Sun, the Pokeys and the Fire Snakes. These enemies don’t affect the gameplay too much, as the Re-Volt cars have such a small hitbox that they are very easily avoided, compared to the original game. However, they do give the track a lot of life!
The track is challenging, too; the AI uses the main shortcut, which I find a bit strange, but there are also some other cuts that can be made across the sand. This conversion is a lot of fun! Upon release, Kiwi said ‘more stuff in the same style will maybe follow’, but sadly this has not been the case so far.

Well this track was for sure one trip down memory lane. My first interaction with this one was on DS Lite, Mario Kart DS. Thanks for the fun! gg
So cool! For the first time, some track is rivalling GBA Rainbow Road for being my favourite Mario Kart track in Re-Volt. I’m on the fence on letting the AI take a shortcut by default; played a lot of hilaire recently? ;) This track was a great pick for conversion, and although the enemies don’t pose any realistic threat, they add so much life to the track—it’s delightful! The track looks even better than it did in Mario Kart Wii. Great job!
