Grimm is a relic of its time. Even if the track favors cars focused on top speed rather than the usual acceleration meta its still a track I enjoy passing the time with and overall its a masterpiece reflecting the era it was made in.
I downloaded the track yesterday, I liked it quite a lot, Well made for his age, There are many locations in this track from the subway to the playground. This track is quite long, and quite simple, as there are many straights. And I agree with @607 it is more suitable for professional cars. Although the textures are pretty well made, for their age.
I think this is the track I was looking for… many years ago when I had like 8 or 9 years I have done the best race in my entire life. I was driving a bugatti and my only opponent a ferrari. 20 laps. I was behind that car, at least 200m for almost every lap until somehow I managed to recover that distance and surpass that ferrari in the last lap, at last curve…
Sometimes a track doesn’t need to be wonderful to let you remember wonderful moments.
P.S. I love this track anyway, for this and for its atmosphere.
Thank you for providing this track, me and my familly enjoyed it, the experience changed our life forever, track has everything you wish for starting from trains and well… trains, yeah some containers too.
My cousin is scared of playgrourd, ever since he saw swings he never spoke to us again, he probably needs to visit doctor now…
…But not much bumpy parts so it’s alright.
This track is rather top-speed centred, with a lot of long and open straights. Personally, I’m not a fan of it.
The setting was pulled of well: ‘Nhood’ is a reference to the Toys in the Hood tracks from the base game, and the track doesn’t resemble those tracks at all, but the theme of a dreary neighbourhood at night is clear, and textures, modelling and custom objects work together well to make it coherent.
The track isn’t too interesting to play, though; it’s better with faster cars, but there’s still too little of challenge. The track could have been made more interesting with stars put in hard to reach locations, but I think that in general the track is too spacious for Re-Volt. It is also quite long: maybe it could be downscaled and work better.
Lastly, I think the track is too dark. It’s playable if the sun isn’t shining too brightly on your screen, but sometimes it is hard to see what’s going on.
Not one of Skitch2’s best tracks!
