Based on a vintage Hot Wheels car named Tricar X8 from the years 1980-1989
The blue skinned toy in real life came with Ralston Cereal as a promo car from 1989, which - according to wikia - was unreleased.
The red skinned toy was also a promo car came with Kellogg's Cereal and as McDonald's give away, but it is from 1985 already.
