I made something like a space shuttle car.
It also flies like Probe UFO.
Car rated as Semi-Pro. How? I will never know. It just doesn’t fit. It’s a good thing then that it looks so good, like it’s made for a different game. Body is very refined, details visible, and the glow from the rear-located engines looks just amazing. Paintjobs don’t seem to be all that different, except for the blue one that has a “driver” on the windshield. Quick as all hell, even more agile. Pure cosmos. But still – it doesn’t fit into the game from a technical standpoint. It’s so off balance that it breaks any race it competes in. Worth it, but only for dedicated single-make sessions on multi.
Pros:
– Looks and sounds are pure awesomeness; the engine twirl fits the space theme and only adds to the immersion
– Acceleration is appropriate for an aircar, to say the least
– It can turn midair, and after a jump instead of dropping back down it floats gracefully as it should
– Wallrides can now be a thing
Cons:
– It’s utterly OP, at top speed of 75kph and good enough acceleration to hit it from 0 at Supermarket 2 front straight
– Above makes it impossible to enjoy any single player race, since not even Pro cars have that kind of instant power, and that’s rated as Semi-Pro (!)
– Handling, while very quirky and enjoyable, can get hectic if you get hit with a weapon or crash into a barrier
– Small thing that might just be hardcoded into the game, but while turning it leans outwards instead of inwards like an aircar theoretically should
Is more like a pro or a super-pro?
I very much appreciate the visuals, but I took the liberty to edit out the stats from the site because that’s not how you’re supposed to put them on… For top speed you’re supposed to put the in-game observed one, while for acceleration you need a couple conversions: use a site like Omnicalculator to get the correct value, as what RV parameters contain is measured in seconds, not m/s^2.
Also a quick tip: make sure to clean up your zips from any unnecessary files, you have a pretty sizeable WAV file that’s completely unused (flying car 1) alongside what I believe are Probe UFO folder remainders.
