Tamashi

Update v1.5: Reworked mesh and UV mapping. Paintkit updated. No changes to parameters.

Part of the SD02 line that succeeded the original Starfire GT.

Tamashi is the fourth-generation of a certain Japanese roadster. Toy-Volt created this chibi to celebrate the 1,000,000th roadster the manufacturer had made back in 2016. Later, 30th Anniversary Edition and company's 100th Anniversary variants were released in 2019 and 2020 respectively.

Like the real car, Tamashi has playful handing with soft suspension and tail-happy yet predictable behavior. Although the car is not very fast by chibi standards, its good handling can make the car quite competitive on more technical tracks.

Tips:

• Tamashi has good acceleration but low top speed.
• Despite the low top speed, the car has nimble handling.
• Power is rear biased, but the soft suspension makes the car quite stable unless you try to upset the balance.

Misc:

• Tamashi is based off of the fourth generation Mazda MX-5.
• The skins are - my car (USDM base model in Soul Red Crystal), the 30th Anniversary Edition, the 100th Anniversary. Each color comes in top down and up variants.
• The default skin has deep blacks and bright highlights to emulate a bit of SRC's color depth.
• "Tamashi" means "soul/spirit", a reference to Mazda's soul motif.
