EDIT September 8th, 2024 – ruleset clarification for the Track category (click here for quick access)

September 1st, 2024 – Hello Re-Volters!

We’d like to apologize in advance – this event was long due, as this year 2024 is a special one for Re-Volt – on August 18th our favorite RC car game turned 25! We’ve faced some technical difficulties with the site a few weeks back, but we’re properly back in action now – and I, the webmaster, finally finished moving to my new house, as well. But aaaanyway, let’s jump straight into it!

What is this?

Content creators can attend the contest by submitting a creation according to the contest themes.

After the deadline, there will be a public voting to determine the winners of each category.

In addition, you can gain Kudos by attending the RV 25th Anniversary event!

  • Attending: You get 25 for attending a category.
  • Podium: Getting on the podium in a category will give you 50 .
  • Winning: Winning a category is worth 100 !
Theme and categories

To stay true to the way the game was “meant to be played” back in ’99, here are the three event categories for the Anniversary event:

  • Track: use the original Track Editor to build any track you like.
  • Car: start from any of the stock Re-Volt cars and make a remodel.
  • Skin: submit a skin for Toyeca.
Rules

General rules:

  • Deadline for submission is September 30, 2024 at 21 UTC.
  • Every creator can submit a maximum of ONE creation per category (and it is not mandatory to participate in all of them).
  • Collaborations are allowed. Please provide the name(s) of the author(s) you collaborated with.
  • Used resources (if any) must be stated in an attached readme, unless their author(s) is (are) okay with free distribution.
  • Please don’t upload your entries to Re-Volt World or any other websites before the voting is over.
  • It is not mandatory to keep your entries secret before the deadline.

Track rules:

  • Only tracks made entirely within the Track Editor are allowed. We’re in 1999 – no Lego Extreme trickery to be seen here.
  • To create an even playing field for both novice and experienced track makers, the use of MAKEITGOOD is not allowed – make the best out of what the Track Editor has in store!
  • Please give your track a unique name and folder name – as per the site’s Guidelines we will not accept USER_* (default export names).
  • You are allowed to modify the track’s textures to your liking, however it is not required.
  • RVGL doesn’t come with the Track Editor anymore – you can find it here: original | Kenny’s v1.1 | Dummiesman’s Unity version

Car rules:

  • Only remodels of stock Re-Volt cars are allowed. Time to live those zModeler times again!
  • You are only allowed to work with what the vanilla content has to offer – it is not allowed to take parts from custom cars, only stock cars.
  • It is not strictly necessary to reparam your creation.

Skin rules:

  • Only Toyeca skins are allowed. The texture size can be 256×256 or 512×512. Feel nostalgic yet? :)
  • A 512×512 Toyeca paintkit can be found here: Xarc’s 512×512 Toyeca skin + paint kit. You may however use any other paintkit or come up with your very own details.
  • You are allowed to use decals and other texture elements made by other users.
Submit your entry

Submit your entry by using the upload function down below.

  • Only visible for logged in users!
  • You can upload zip, rar or 7z files.
  • The maximum file size is 50 MB.
  • You can use the upload function as often as you wish! Upload updated versions of your creations anytime. We will have a look at the uploads manually, and just consider the latest version if there are more.

Submissions are closed. Thanks to everyone who participated! The voting page will be available in the following days.
